Cemhan's family didn't move to America. They fled to it. Istanbul to Paris to New York — carrying nothing but instinct and the understanding that everything you build, you can lose overnight.
Cemhan grew up in SoHo when SoHo was still SoHo. Surrounded by fashion, light, and the energy of a city that doesn't slow down for anyone. Cemhan never learned to slow down either.
Cemhan founded his first technology company at 19. By 25, he was running one of New York's largest high-fashion boutiques. Started photographing the collections on instinct — then every designer in the room wanted to know who was behind the camera.
Cemhan didn't plan any of it. He just didn't know how to stop building.
A fall fractured Cemhan's skull. Took his memory. Rewired how he sees. The analytical mind quieted. What replaced it was something Cemhan couldn't explain — and couldn't turn off.
Everything looked different. Everything was art.
Cemhan sold the business. Left New York. Picked up a camera.
What started as recovery became a calling. Today Cemhan creates imagery that outlasts the moment — working with minimal equipment, maximum instinct, and one belief:
Life doesn't wait. Neither does Cemhan.
When Cemhan Biricik began receiving inquiries from automotive brands and Midwest-based luxury clients, the expansion felt inevitable. Detroit and the greater Michigan region offered something the coasts didn't — an industrial aesthetic, raw light filtering through factory lofts, and a creative renaissance that matched Cemhan's own story of reinvention.
From commercial campaigns in downtown Detroit to editorial work with Michigan-based designers, Cemhan Biricik brought the same instinct-driven approach that defined his New York and Miami career to the Midwest. The result: a growing portfolio of work that proves great photography isn't bound by geography — it's bound by vision.
